Memberships and Fees

Adult Paddler: $400 year

For members 18 and up. Yearly membership in Kahakai includes all SCORA fees for the iron, 9-man and Catalina races. Members may be able to store OC1 canoes in our shed when space becomes available. Yearly membership dues are to paid by the 1st of April. OC1 Shed dues are to be paid by July 1 of each year.

Adult Novice Paddler: $350 year

Available to paddlers for their first year paddling and competing in SCORA events.

Restorative Paddler: $300 year

The restorative paddler membership is for paddlers who want to develop skills and conditioning, or who need time to heal from an injury and would not be able to race during the season. Restorative paddlers will be able to join in on casual off-season paddling, as well as community events, and will be able to join race season practices with the coach’s permission. This is a great way to get or stay in shape for next year’s season, or to stay involved with the club while rehabilitating an injury.

Keiki | Junior Paddler: $150 year (1st child), $100 year (2nd+ child)

Available to paddlers ages 9–19. Full dues for first child. Additional child(ren) at a discount. Includes all race fees, insurance, use of equipment, and a jersey.

New Paddlers—Off Season: $100 year

We have an off-season paddling program for new paddlers. It is called “Winter Lites” and is held each Saturday from October through March. It is an introduction to outrigger paddling, and a great way to have an extended trial period with our club. The new paddler cost will be credited to the yearly dues if you continue for the novice race season. Dues-paying members can paddle off season at no extra cost.

OC1 Canoe Share: $250 year

Kahakai has club OC1 canoes that are available to be shared by members who pay this additional fee. Great for those who don’t have their own OC1. Must be a member in good standing to participate. OC1s are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

OC1 Shed Storage: $210 year

Storage of a personal OC1 canoe in the Kahakai shed. Available to members in good standing. Spaces are limited. You must use your OC1 at least once a month to keep your spot. It is not a storage facility, but intended for members who train regularly on OC1s.

A waiver is required.

All paddlers, whether members or not, must fill out and sign a waiver before paddling:

Non-members and visiting paddlers, please fill out a club waiver on the beach.

Club members must fill out a SCORA waiver—you may do so online here.
